- To supervise Hospital wards, OPD and Emergencies on daily basis to ensure clients visiting HGH are provided with better services.
- To manage patients flow and directs doctors to make sure the practice stays on time
- To follow up daily activities cases and assign doctors and specialized units to oversee the problems occurring in the hospital.
- Develop and prepare daily hospital care plan & circulate the plans to technical team.
- To prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the clinical care of the Hospital.
- Develop assessment report of client’s negligence and staff engagement in clinical care.
- Provide leadership by maintaining an excellent attitude while using “leadership by example” and “participative management as his/her leadership styles.
- Initiate and Lead clinical incidence review meetings with all department Heads (Doctors Nurses and Midwives)
- Develop work schedule and duty shifts of the hospital and attached the schedule on board.
- Develop a system for training and across training in all clinical procedures and systems and organize workshops for the Clinical care staff base on the training needs require by the medical staff.
- Collaborate and support internship program and other students coming for Clinical Teaching and work closely with the clinical coordinator of the Universities.
- Support and participate in managing emergences and major accidents and undertake precautionary measures to ensure safety and security of the hospital.
- Develop and review Hospital Ethic and confidentiality policies and ensure staff adherence to these policies.
- Helps the clinical staff (Doctors & Nurses) stay focused on the practice purpose and goals and instills discipline by providing prompt necessary feedback to clinical team members who show any regular work and attitude deficiencies
- Participate in Hospital Managerial meetings and workshops and share minutes with doctors under the clinical coordination department.
- Monitor and evaluate accurate client’s documentation and registrations.
- Ensure health care quality improvement and client’s safety of HGH
- Responsible to ensure proper clinical area appearance, sterilization and restocking by creating daily, weekly and monthly assistant task lists.
Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Reporting Arrangements
The Clinical Coordinator in Hargeisa Group Hospital will report to the Director General of HGH.
Deliverables
The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for the production of the following deliverables:
- Clinical coordination training manuals
- Capacity building programs and reports
- Quality assurance framework and accredited standards Manual
Monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports
Qualification and Experience:
- A minimum of masters of medicine and surgery, Public Health and other related discipline from a recognized University or equivalent professional qualification. Ph.D. Considered added value.
- Seven years’ experience, four (4) of which must have been at the senior management level in the Hospital services.
- Must have copy certificate NHPC registered.
- Have good communication skills and able to work under pressure.
